Petete is a cartoon character created byManuel Garcia Ferre. The character is a smal penguin from Antarctica, Brown clear, with the face and abdomen yellow, a hat wool with pompón above and a pacifier hence its name, hanging of the neck. It was very successful in the Decade of the 1970s not only in Argentina, where was originated, but in other countries of Latin America and Spain, competing with the very Topo gigio. It also had a weekly collectible magazine everybody at school used to buy and keep in big folders later.
It came with all sort of subjects, from astronomy to geography to apparel history. It put the bug of curiosity and exploring in every of us.
